I’m absolutely delighted to be kicking off Xpresso Book Tours blog tour for Internet Famous by Danika Stone! This is my first ever blog tour, and I’m so excited because it’s for a book I’ve pretty much been salivating over since I found out about it!
Internet Famous
Danika Stone
Published by: Swoon Reads
Publication date: June 6th 2017
Genres: Contemporary, Young Adult
Can an online romance survive in real life?
Internet sensation Madison Nakama has it all! Her pop-culture rewatch site has a massive following, and fans across the world wait on her every post and tweet. Even Madi’s dismal romantic life seems ready to take off as Laurent, a fellow geek (and unfairly HOT French exchange student!) starts flirting with her in the comments section of her blog. But Laurent’s not the only one watching for Madi’s replies.
Internet fame has a price, and their online romance sparks the unwanted attention of a troll. When Madi’s “real life” hits a rough patch, she feels her whole world crumbling. With Laurent’s support, can Madi rally her friends across the globe to beat the troll, or will he succeed in driving her away from everything―and everyone―she loves?
My Review
I absolutely loved Danika Stone’s book All The Feels, (see my review here) and ever since I found out she had written another YA book about fandoms I was desperate to read it. But to my dismay I learned it was not being released until June and I would have to wait.
…but Internet Famous was worth the wait! This book was fun, extremely addictive, and just as good as I’d hoped it would be.
I recently compiled my ‘book wishlist’ and one of my top spots went to more books that take place within the same universe, where the characters interact with those from other books. It’s like a happy little inside joke – and I’m on the inside! And reading this book, it was like Danika Stone found my (as yet unpublished) wishlist and granted my wish! It was so much fun to see little glimpses of familiar characters from All The Feels like @starveilbrian1981 and even a mention of @LivOutLoud!
Madi is living the dream – she is FUNEMPLOYED , aka making a living from her blog, thanks to the clickety click of ads. I mean that really is the blogger’s dream, right? I started my blog as a way to chronicle what I’ve been reading, discover new books, make some new friends in the blogging community and maybe read some advanced copies. I never really expected to have many readers, though of course I hoped I’d cultivate a following. But I think deep down we all have this secret (or not so secret) hope that our blog will lead to something huge and allow us to quit our day jobs and be gainfully funemployed! And at the young age of 18 Madi has amassed a huge fan base of followers around the world logging on for her rewatches and liveblogs. Amazing! I would have liked to read a bit more about how exactly Madi got to that point, but hey that’s probably me just wanting a step-by-step guide for myself.
I loved following Madi’s adventures in interneting, and her journey from having fans online to friends in real life. Her relationship with @laurentabelard was especially fun to watch! I don’t want to spoil anything but I really walked the line between ‘awww’ and ‘hmmm is this a little iffy?’ throughout but that element of uncertainty added a little something extra to the story, in my opinion.
Danika Stone crafted this book about the technological world so well, mixing in blog posts, private messages, texts and memes to really make it shine. And there was a certain photo date that totally inspired heart eye emojis!
Madi’s younger sister Sarah is on the autism spectrum, and I thought her character was very well developed and her difficulties were handled extremely well in the book. I loved the scenes between Sarah and Madi and could really feel the love they felt for each other, as well as the stress they both experienced. I think Sarah is such an important character and I enjoyed watching her grow throughout the book.
This was such a quick fun read that you just want to finish in one sitting. If you loved All The Feels, you’ll love Internet Famous. And if you haven’t read All The Feels yet – quick! Go get it now! You’ve got almost 24 hours to read it before Internet Famous is released!

I loved All the Feels too! I am so amazed by how Danika’s novels are interrelated. Despite the fact that I have DNFed the novel, I still agree to some of your points. Great review! 😍
